One of the most-viewed videos on our YouTube channel this week in 2008 actually dates back to December 2006. It’s Joe Zekas’ take on the “Times Square” of Pilsen — the intersection of 18th Street and Blue Island Avenue. As Pilsen videos always are, it’s been quite the magnet for comments over the years.
How does Joe’s assessment of the neighborhood sound more than four years later?

The video makes Pilsen sound like Engelwood. I’m surprised there wan’t eery music to go along with it.
Tell us how you really feel about Pilsen Joe.
West Sider,
I think I said exactly what my feeings were about Pilsen at the time.
Was there anything I said that wasn’t accurate four years ago?
It seems to contradict with your comments in your latest post in which you claim that White hipsters gentrfiers are unwelcomed in Pilsen. Your other videos indicate that there is a substantial movement within the community against White gentrifiers, yet you claim in this video that there is no evidence of any type of gentrification.
I’m confused, either you were completely wrong in your assessment 4 years ago, or you are completely off in your current assessment. Will you be willing to admit that you were completely wrong?
If I were completely wrong I would admit it.
There’s no contradiction in saying there’s a strong anti-gentrification movement and little to no evidence of gentrification.
And, yes, you are confused about the difference between my having transcribed a Flickr photo and my having said something.
Where did I make any claim about white hipsters?
