Jameson Realty Group has started marketing Deming on the Green, a 23-unit new-construction project by Silverleaf Development Group. The building was designed by UrbanWorks Ltd and Behnisch Architekten, a German firm renowned for green design. The building, planned for 416 W Deming Pl in Lincoln Park, appears to be a cubist, brick-and-glass checkerboard with alternating protrusions that should make for an interesting contrast with Wexner / Greenberg Associates‘ Deming Row rehabs (pictured after the jump), also on the 400 block of West Deming.
The design may be a giant leap forward for this side of Lincoln Park, but looking at Behnisch’s futuristic designs for Norddentsche Landesbank in Hannover and even the planned Senscity Paradise Universe, an amusement park in Las Vegas, makes us wish the firm was tackling a larger-scale Chicago project.
Condos at Deming on the Green have one to three bathrooms, and some units have dens. According to Jameson, the building’s “eco-friendly design” includes a geothermal heating and cooling system. Prices range from the $430s up to $1.5 million.
