Chicago Agent magazine recently published a recap of the Study Study of Residential Real Estate, an annual report from Rubloff Residential Properties agent Louise Study. She notes that the mansion at 1435 Astor St was the most expensive single-family house to sell in the Near North / Gold Coast area in 2006 – for a cool $14.5 million. The house, built in 1894 and designed by Thomas & Rapp architects, has 20 rooms, 13 fireplaces and a 5,000-square-foot coach house and garage.
