Greenline: A "Good Neighbor" in Woodlawn

Last week, the Chicago Association of Realtors handed out dozens of Good Neighbor Awards to new residential and commercial developments that encouraged rehabilitation, salvaged historical properties, rescued architecturally significant buildings, and tackled stigmatized properties in their communities.

This year’s winner of the Bruce Abrams Award — bestowed upon only one Good Neighbor Award recipient each year for its exceptional work — went to Greenline Development for its new Greenline Condominiums development at 6617 S Ingleside Ave in Woodlawn. The six new-construction buildings comprised 37 affordable units built on vacant, city‐owned land.

In February Mark talked to Greenline principal Benjamin Van Horne about his company and the Woodlawn neighborhood and toured The Myers, one of Greenline Condominiums’ eight-unit buildings. The Tribune reported last week that Van Horne hopes to build a 20-unit cohousing development in Bronzeville.
