Heritage spillover a nice legacy for Mesa

The LegacyThe Legacy at Millennium Park isn’t scheduled to break ground until July, according to Andy Warner, of Equity Marketing Services, but the planned 73-story condo tower, which has been on the market a couple of months, is 60 percent sold. One factor, Warner says, has been move-up buyers from The Heritage at Millennium Park, the luxury tower that overlooks Michigan Avenue from behind the Chicago Cultural Center.

“People who looked at The Heritage, and also who bought at the Heritage, are buying at The Legacy,” Warner says. “It’s a logical move-up. A number of people bought in-towns at The Heritage, and now they’re saying, we like it down here, it’s time to move up.”

Another advantage is that Millennium Park is now complete. We didn’t realize what a catalyst it would be for residential building, but Mesa Development obviously did, making sure to include the name in its Heritage project when the park was still mostly rubble.
