The 495-unit, 43-story Hubbard Place is rising rapidly at 360 W Hubbard in River North, and is about three-quarters of the way toward its full height.
Judging from the last photos I took at the site the building is adding a floor about every three working days. Hubbard Place’s website is currently estimating occupancy in October of this year.
Our list of new downtown apartment projects had shown Hubbard Place accepting residents in September. We’re still showing the 325-unit Optima Center, 200 E Illinois, delivering occupancy in October, but the co-developer’s website is saying only “2013.”
We’ve also moved back the occupancy date to July for AMLI River North. The website for the 50-story high-rise is estimating “Summer 2013” occupancy.
The first building to deliver new apartments this year will apparently be The Coast, 345 E Wacker Dr. The building’s website says the 515-unit Lakeshore East development is “opening” next month “on the shores of Lake Michigan.”
If all the projects deliver on schedule, Chicago renters will see nearly 2,700 new apartments coming to market in the downtown area.
