Hyde Park’s Regents Park reported sold

Crain’s is reporting that New Jersey-based Antheus Capital has agreed to buy Regents Park, a 1,031 unit two-tower apartment complex on the lakefront in Hyde Park.

The property has been on the market for some time, and back in mid-March we quoted The Habitat Companies’ Mark Segal on its sale prospects:

Not all markets are the same. The lack of interest in Hyde Park properties is “striking,” Segal said, in reference to the difficulty Crescent Heights has had in selling Regents Park. The difference in perception of the Hyde Park and Streeterville markets, he says, “couldn’t be more profound.”

Antheus’ Hyde Park properties are managed by Mac Apartments, one of YoChicago’s clients. If completed, the acquisition of Regents Park, will substantially expand Mac’s already huge presence in Hyde Park.
