Infill with Phil Berger: Mod condos looks promising in West Loop

Our new video series with architecture critic Phil Berger got off to a feisty start. There he was, minding his own business on Fulton, when the developer of the building he was trashing wandered up to tell Phil that the feeling was mutual. In this segment, Phil has praise for the planned West Loop condo development, Mod, judging by renderings and the sales center, at 1131 W Madison St.

The project, he says, is “unabashedly modern” and just what the West Loop needs – “less red brick and more things that look like they were built in the 21st century.”
