Inside and outside the Center on Halsted

Two years ago the Center on Halsted cut the ribbon on a 60,000 square-foot, LEED-certifed outreach facility at the corner of Halsted Street and Waveland Avenue in Boys Town. The center offers a variety of services for the LGBT community and the neighborhood as a whole, including social and recreational programs, legal assistance, HIV / AIDS testing, and space for meetings and events. A Whole Foods Market anchors a large retail space on the center’s southern end.

@properties agent Bob Darrow and I briefly stepped into the Center on Halsted to have a look around, and then went outside to take a look at the building and some of the condos and stores in the 3600 and 3700 blocks of North Halsted Street.
