Inspired by gentrification

Meet Cory Jones. He spends his nights as a Chicago policeman in the tough Fifth District. During a part of his days, he’s a real estate developer.

Cory was inspired by the renovation — some would call it gentrification — of a North Kenwood block he passed daily on the way to Roosevelt University, where he majored in accounting.

If you’re impressed, as we were, by his sweetness and his values, you’ll want to watch the remaining three parts of our interview with Cory, who’s completing the renovation of a 6-flat at 4314 S. Vincennes Ave in North Kenwood / Bronzeville.

Jones talks about who’s moving to Bronzeville, the changes he’s seen in the neighborhood, and takes us on a tour of one of the units at his vintage restoration.
