Infill is a new video feature for YoChicago, a peripatetic ramble around Chicago with an architecture critic in tow.
Phil Berger has written often, often on architecture, in local and national publications.
Phil and Yo’s Joe Zekas made a half-dozen stops in the West Loop today. Phil praised some, panned others.
It somehow seems appropriate to kick off the series with an owner – designer’s review of Phil’s review of his work. Phil didn’t like Christos’ work, and Christos didn’t much like our work. Watch the fireworks.
The first episode of Infill, Phil’s review of the Mediterranean-style building in the 1100 block of Randolph Street, is at YouTube.

Wow. Was anyone else really nervous while watching this? It kind of felt like critiques in art classes when the really outspoken students just totally take a dump all over some other students work—to the point where you start to feel bad for the victim. Not that he didn’t technically deserve it, but man.
