• thats number doesnt mean much without a comparable number from another neighborehood of similar density.

• Interesting interview. Probably a more rosy picture than is reality.
  As it happens, I was actually mugged at gunpoint in that very neighborhood this year at about 3PM on a Sunday afternoon. Ironically, while waiting to be shown a house, which was for sale.
  It is definitely still a neighborhood that is ‘on the edge’. Gang activity is still a big driver of criminal activity in the area.

  It’s obvious that the police presence is so heavy because there’s a need for it.

  There were a number of areas where the police appeared to be caravaning – as if they were concerned about being there without backup!
