Well, it’s official. Condo developers have run out of names. We recently came across The Park Newberry, a new Hyde Park condo conversion at 924 E Hyde Park Blvd (pictured left), which immediately caught our attention because there’s also a Park Newberry in River North (pictured right). The latter is a 12-story condo building built in 1998, and the former is a 12-unit condo conversion of a vintage building. While there’s probably not going to be much chance of confusing the buildings, perhaps the developer of the Hyde Park conversion can attach a “manor” to its building’s name.
Condos at The (Hyde) Park Newberry have three or four bedrooms and a ridiculously hyperbolic “presidential master suite” that, we hope, comes pre-installed with a red phone. Prices range from the $480s to the $680s, and its supposed Web site, www.theparknewberry.com, doesn’t appear to be active yet. As for the original Park Newberry, Rubloff has four resales available in the building, located at 55 W Delaware Pl, ranging from the $630s to $1.1 million.
