James Place proposal scrapped

CaptionJames Place, a 16-story luxury high-rise planned for 100 W Huron St in River North, has been canceled. The news comes just a few weeks after we checked in with the project.

A helpful tipster (thanks Tom!) alerted us that the development’s Web site had changed, and I confirmed the decision with Eric Dick, of Maher Partners, this afternoon. Affinity Development still owns the land and is exploring other options.

Over the course of what turned out to be a short development cycle, the James Place marketed a varying number of homes in the high-rise: first 42, then 34, all in an attempt to corner the luxury second-home buyers still shopping in River North.
