Jones Chicago is a 25-story, 188-unit apartment tower at 220 W Illinois St in the River North. The building has ground-level retail space and garage parking for 176 cars.
The developers are Gerding Edlen and Fred Latsko of Structured Management, Hartshorne Plunkard is the architecture firm and Lend Lease is the general contractor.
The development proposal included restoration of the existing Chicago firehouse at the northeast corner of Illinois and Franklin Street. The firehouse is a Chicago landmark, and will be rehabilitated for commercial use.
The apartments
Jones offers studio, 1-bedroom, 1-bedroom plus den and 2-bedroom, 1- and 2-bath apartments. There are 18 studios, 96 one-bedrooms and 74 two-bedroom apartments.
A typical floor has ten apartments, with one studio, one 1-bedroom, four 1-bedroom plus dens, three 2-bedroom, 2-baths and one 2-bedroom, 1 bath apartment.
All of the apartments, including studios have private outdoor terraces or balconies.
Floor plans, without dimensions, and near real-time availability are available online.
The apartments have LED lighting, in-unit washer / dryers, wood-look floors in living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, and kitchens with “cabinet fronted” appliances.
