K2 Apartments enhances the city’s largest dog park

When Georgetown Company acquired K2 last year it immediately began looking for ways to improve the Fulton River District‘s newest luxury apartment tower.

As part of its efforts to ensure that K2 would be an asset to its neighbors, Georgetown reached out to 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly for suggestions. Ald. Reilly was quick to respond that local residents had been clamoring for more public open space for the neighborhood’s four-legged residents.

Georgetown responded by undertaking a complete revamp of its dog park, the city’s largest, and opening the park to residents of the surrounding area.

The results were unveiled yesterday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony with representatives of Georgetown Company and Ald. Reilly in attendance.

Dozens of K2 and area residents turned out with their four-legged companions to explore the sprawling park.

The event was an opportunity for residents and neighbors to socialize on a sunny Friday morning.

Some of the local businesses that serve K2 pet-owners were also in attendance at the event, including Worthee, 6 Mutts, Pooch Hotel and VIP’s Hotel.

Refreshments were available for pets and their owners.

K2 residents have a view of the dog park from the private bridge that connects K2 to Jewel-Osco.

K2 is a pet-friendly, full-amenity, high-service new apartment tower. K2 has on-site management, maintenance and leasing staff, and 24/7 door staff.
