K2 construction update – a crane jump, paint and the heat

Late last week four 20-foot sections were added to the tower crane at K2 at K Station, bringing it to its final height and enabling construction to advance from the 26th to its topping out at the 34th floor.

Window installation, drywalling and spraying of popcorn ceilings is proceeding on the lower floors.

The concrete façade of the building will be painted white to match the precast concrete at its base.

Despite the heat, which caused some work slowdowns, the project is on schedule, accord to McHugh Construction’s Owen Smith.
