The Chicago Spire

The Chicago SpireMichael Kardas, ever the rebel, may have bent a few rules, at least from Shelbourne Development‘s perspective (see right), to get the panorama you see above. Kardas visited the site of The Chicago Spire in late September to nab some shots of the city’s most famous hole in the ground.

The 150-story Spire, located at 420 E North Water St in Streeterville, will comprise 1,193 one- to four-bedroom units priced from the $800s to $40 million.

  • I hope that there will be an observation deck close to the top. Obviously not at the very top, which is too narrow, but a short distance below the top, at which the tower will be wide enough to make this feasible. This would be a tremendous tourist attraction and it should be feasible to charge enough for the tickets to make it profitable.

  • You might want to change the price range, the $40 million dollar unit is under contract.

Curious what the most expensive unit us now….
