You know what they say: Beware of Greeks bearing goats. Especially when they’re riding in an unrefrigerated blue minivan.
Thanks to photographer friend Michael Kardas, who snapped this unabashedly unsanitary shot outside Mr. Greek Gyros, near the intersection of Jackson and Halsted streets.

This might have broken some health code somewhere.
I think they should be reported before someone becomes violently sick. I used to work a very short distance from that joint. I would occasionally stop in for lunch – never again.
First, I want to say that is deplorable. That is a travesty and it is a horrible represetation of Greektown. Second, just because the van is parked outside of Mr.Greek Gyros doesn’t mean squat. This man is not employed there and Mr.Greek Gyros
DOES NOT SERVE LAMB!! Please, don’t jump to conclusions.
Utopia,
Good cautions – people should not jump to conclusions.
But, you’ve seemed to issue a non-denial denial, also known in some circles as a Clintonesque denial.
Saying that the man is not employed at this establishment is not the same as saying that he wasn’t delivering there. Saying that the establishment doesn’t serve lamb is not the same as saying it doesn’t serve what’s in the van.
As to what the photo represents of Greektown – well, our photographer didn’t drive the van there.
OR GOAT OR WHATEVER ELSE IS IN THE VAN!!
Yeah, I am moving up the street from this place, and would like to know what the hell is going on with this.
You know, he could be delivering to the Zeus restaurant right next door. Or perhaps he’s taking away out of date/expired food. Just a thought.
Who knows… I’ll still go to Mr Greek, good food good price.
