Kelleher wants $16M for Gold Coast mansion

1416 N Astor St, Chicago

World-famous hole digger Garrett Kelleher is trying to unload his century-old mansion at 1416 N Astor St for $16 million, says Dennis Rodkin. It’s not on the MLS, but if it were, it would be the most expensive listing in all of Chicago, and third most expensive in the metro area. The Spire (non-)developer bought the home in March 2007 for $8.5 million, according to Blockshopper.

Rodkin couples this news (coincidentally, I’m sure) with a mention of a new listing in Deerfield, noteworthy for being the former home of Bob Bell, who played Bozo the Clown from 1960 to 1984. The 3,170 square-foot, four-bedroom home is available for $535,000 as is or $699,000 with renovations.
