For $54,900, you can pick up a one-bedroom / one-bath condo less than 500 feet away from the edge of Lincoln Park’s northern reaches and just a few minutes from that adorable little dog beach north of Montrose Harbor.
Unit #1S in the courtyard building at 818 W Lakeside Pl in Uptown features hardwood floors, stainless-steel appliances, a walk-in pantry, crown molding, and track lighting, according to a listing from Ayoub Rabah of Great Street Properties.
The place doesn’t have its own washer / dryer (coin laundry is available), and it comes as-is, but you’ll be paying $72,000 less for it than its last owner did, and you won’t have to wait for anyone to move out. Monthly assessments come out to around $230 a month.

I am simply astounded that prices have come down so much on Chicago’s north lakefront.
WHAT?!
TUP,
Try and get financing in there, that association has many many issues.
For what it’s worth, the reviews at Yelp call Great Street Properties out as a “scam artist.” Be alert.
There’s almost always a catch.
Catch is that you are a hop and skip away from Leland and Sheridan. If you want to know what the corner is like, just youtube Uptown riot and you will see multiple video’s of gang fights and crack dealing out in the open, complete with public urination. Enjoy.
