Once completed in late summer 2011, the world-class, 147,000 square-foot casino going up at Devon Avenue and River Road in Des Plaines is expected to create approximately 900 new jobs. Many casino employees will be on the lookout for affordably priced, new-construction homes near their new workplace, and they’ll be hard-pressed to find anything quite like the new townhomes of Lexington Park.
Lexington Park is located just 4 miles north of the casino site, making the commute time from the community to the casino’s front door a simple 12-minute drive, according to Google Maps.
Midwest Gaming will begin hiring for positions at the casino in spring / summer 2011, by which point several new Lexington Park townhomes will be reaching completion. The community’s two- and three-bedroom townhomes are priced from the $230s to $250s, and feature finished lower levels, two or three bathrooms, dens (per plan), two-car garages, and abundant storage space, says sales manager Mary Corbett.
For buyers ready to move right now, one unit, a Warrington home with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a den, is ready to deliver and priced to sell at $247,000, Corbett says.
