Life's a beach at 600 N Lake Shore Drive

When Belgravia Group and Sandz Development announced construction of 600 N Lake Shore Drive, many Streeterville residents threw a fit, saying that the project would cast shadows over Oak Street Beach. To address these concerns, the developers came up with a design that includes two towers (40 and 46 stories), that are set back from the beach. Streeterville residents we’ve spoken to aren’t convinced that the new design will preserve their sunshine. Construction has begun on the north tower and it’s scheduled for completion in spring 2007, so we watch with interest.
