Lincoln Park 2520, buyer trust, and the viability of new high-rises

Among the many proposed high-rises that never made it past pre-sales, only the truly unique products — ones that offer quality homes in highly desirable locations — will have a chance of moving forward in the next few years, says Coldwell Banker agent Jenny Ames. One project she believes is still viable is Lincoln Park 2520, planned for the site of the old Columbus Hospital at 2520 N Lakeview Ave. Other towers won’t be so lucky, due in part to a lack of trust among buyers when it comes to buying pre-construction.

Ames announced yesterday that she will be publishing an 84-page, full-color companion to her blog, Live and Play in Chicago. The magazine should be available at open houses, sales centers, and brokerage offices, she says.
