The redevelopment of two major hospital sites in Lincoln Park, both visible in the above photo, isn’t moving forward at warp speed.
Webster Square, the former Lincoln Park Hospital (Grant Hospital before that), was waiting on the imminent issuance of full building permits when I last checked in with the site. Some work is proceeding in the interim. The hospital shuttered its business nearly 5 years ago.
Greg Hinz has an update at Chicago Business (registration required) on the status of the Children’s Memorial Hospital site. All that appears safe to say about the current status is that the barriers to moving forward are murky. The hospital has been closed for more than a year.
