Look at it this way — it’s an improvement from 2010.
This morning NewGeography.com released its annual list of the Best Cities for Jobs, and Chicago is nowhere near the top. It ranks 250th among cities of any size, which is 62 places higher than last year. Among large cities alone, it comes in 41st, up nine places from last year.
Four of the top five cities for job growth are in Texas: Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood, El Paso, College Station-Bryan, and Midland. (Bismarck, N.D., ranks second.) Likewise, four of the top five large cities are in the Lone Star State: Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos, Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, San Antonio-New Braunfels, and Dallas-Plano-Irving. (New Orleans-Metairie-Kenner ranks second.)
