Lowball offers, overpriced properties

There are many cross-currents in today’s market.

According to Coldwell Banker’s Lino Darchun, some sellers “are extremely reluctant to believe that they are not going to be receiving enough appreciation on the sale of the home they’ve owned for 2 or 3 years to put their son or daughter through Harvard.” And recent buyers: “I have not had any deal where the buyer has not come in with a lowball.”

At the end of the process, Darchun reports, properties are selling at 97% of asking prices.
