More than 100 community leaders, bankers and city officials joined LR Development Company and its partners recently to break ground for Phase I of Roosevelt Square, part of the Chicago Housing Authority’s vaunted Plan for Transformation. The groundbreaking launched construction of the rental buildings as well as marketing efforts for the for-sale homes with the opening of the Roosevelt Square sales center, at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Racine Avenue. The mixed-income community will include 414 new homes in a range of building types as well as new retail spaces on Taylor Street.
