Mallinckrodt in the Park, Part 1: From college to condos

The 180,000 square-foot Mallinckrodt College building has been a fixture in Wilmette and the North Shore for almost a century. It stands on 14 acres of park space near Lake Michigan and is just a short walk or bus ride away from Wilmette’s shops and restaurants and the Metra’s rail line into Chicago. In 2005, the building was converted to a condo and senior living development, but many of its historic details and spaces remain intact.

In March 2010, Joe Zekas toured Mallinckrodt with Ted Pickus of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. They started their walk-through by discussing the history of the building from its time as a college to its residential conversion.
