For many busy high-rise residents their doorman is the first person they see in the morning, the last one they see at night, and is often one of the most reliable people in their life .
The door staff is an integral and vital part of every high-rise condo, so I generally ask the person at the door to introduce themselves on camera. Most of them politely decline, but David Hamill of Elm Tower, 1155 N Dearborn, readily agreed.
While waiting in the lobby and heading to the elevator I had a chance to observe David in action. If what I observed is typical, it’s simply not possible to open a door or push an elevator call button at Elm Tower. David is always one step ahead of you.
