In this 2007 video Kenilworth’s T. Tolbert Chisum, accompanied by the strains of the Battle Hymn of the Republic, solemnly intones the name and address of each Kenilworth resident who died to secure our liberty. As he does so, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts plant a flag memorializing each fallen hero.
Douglas Macarthur reminds us of Plato’s dictum that “Only the dead have seen the end of war.” Our armed forces around the world need no reminder of that hard truth. Join me in honoring their sacrifice and humbly acknowledging how greatly we benefit from it.
