this block of houses would be super cool if most of the owners hadn’t installed those crappy awnings.

Those are the coolest tract houses in Chicago – except for the awnings and the weird site planning; to create the huge expanse of lawn, they are set very close to the rear lot line than typical for that era.

They bring to mind the Keck Forest Crest homes (video) in Glencoe.
