New City apartments offer a new urban experience

Over the years Chicago has seen a number of mixed-use developments billed as a “city within the city.” Marina City, McClurg Court and the John Hancock come readily to mind.

When the first residents move into the New City apartments in mid-July and the retail space begins opening in the fall, the concept of a “city within the city” will be realized on a larger, more varied and more pedestrian-friendly scale.

In addition to the apartment tower, New City includes 320,000 square feet of retail and office space. Confirmed tenants include an 82,000 square foot Mariano’s, ArcLight Cinemas, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kings Bowl America, Z Gallerie, Yard House, Adobe Gila’s,Earl’s Kitchen and Good Stuff Eatery.

A CTA Red Line stop, Whole Foods, the Clybourn Corridor big-box retail outlets and the Steppenwolf and Royal George theatres are all just a short walk from New City.

New City’s keystone location provides easy bus and auto access to the DePaul, Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, River West, Fulton River District, West Loop, Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods.

New City is a full-amenity, full-service, pet-friendly community with 199 studio, convertible, 1- and 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartments. Floor plans are available online.

The leasing trailer at New City recently opened just south of the building on Halsted St. Call 312-578-8444 to inquire about office hours or to schedule an appointment.

New City is currently offering a pre-opening credit of $1,500 toward the first month’s rent.
