We’ve been hearing the crickets chirp at 9 W Erie St in River North since Joe reported that Provence Development met its pre-sale requirement for a new 14-story high-rise last April. Joe noticed this week that the development’s sales center on Superior was still filled with computers and promotional materials, so I asked Hans Fedderke from Helios Design Build whether Provence was still moving forward with the project.
“At this point I would speculate late 2010 – 2011 as the earliest anything will be delivered,” Fedderke writes, without offering a date for groundbreaking. As with 2800 Lincoln, another green development that Helios is marketing, Fedderke says 9 West Erie is still awaiting its commercial tenant, but he doesn’t say whether construction hinges on leasing that space.
As we’ve written in the past, Provence is seeking LEED certification for the Weiss Architecture-designed development. The 60 one- and two-bedroom homes in 9 West Erie are priced from the $270s to the low $600s.
