When George Furla makes his case for the Arcadia Terrace section of West Rogers Park, he focuses on the neighborhood’s proximity to public spaces like Mather, Legion, Hollywood, and Green Briar parks, its mix of public and Hebrew schools, and the “melting pot” of small Asian and Middle Eastern restaurants dotting the map.
Amidst those amenities is a 10-unit building nearing completion at 5738 N California Ave. Furla, an agent with Koenig & Strey‘s Divito & Hebson Group, started listing Design 21‘s new-construction homes last week, and while inquiries about the development have come more from curious neighbors than fellow agents or buyers so far, he expects traffic to pick up as soon as the building’s first model is completed.
“People are interested, but they just want to see something finished,” Furla says. Most of the homes will be finished within the next six weeks, he says.
5738 North California comprises eight two-bedroom / two-baths with 1,425 to 1,675 square feet, priced in the $320s to $440s, and two three-bedroom / two-baths, each with 1,513 square feet and priced in the $370s.
The homes are slated to have 9-foot ceiling heights, oak floors, gas fireplaces; stainless-steel appliances, maple kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, Moen kitchen and bath fixtures, and a master bath with stone finishes, a soaking tub, and a separate shower. All units have outdoor space, either in the form of a patio or a rooftop deck.
The building has an elevator, storage spaces, and an underground, heated garage. Parking spaces are available for an additional $15,000 apiece.
