The Gazette is reporting that construction is targeted to begin next spring on a $300 million development in the Illinois Medical District, a 560-acre part of the Near West Side neighborhood.
The development, on a 9.5-acre site at 2020 W Ogden Ave, will include a 16-story apartment tower with 200 to 250 apartments, according to the report. An early rendering of the apartment tower is above.
The Gazette reports that the project will undergo a multi-layer process of gaining community and city approval. A year ago the Sun-Times reported that the Illinois Medical District Commission “oversees a special zoning area outside of the city’s review, so it can promise expedited construction permits” for the project.
