A new model will open at 50 East Chestnut on Oct 18, according to Steve Mandell, of Jameson Development. The project comprises 34 full-floor condos in a boutique building (an oft-used term that really applies in this case) designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz.

The model will span the entire 21st floor. “We’re spending almost a million dollars on it,” Mandell says – a worthy investment in his view, since 13 condos remain unsold.

That may not seem like a lot, but it adds up to a whopping dollar figure when you consider that remaining units are priced from $2.7 to $3.4 million – $714 to $871 per square foot.

The design of the new model will veer toward traditional (with a few contemporary touches), in line with how most buyers at 50 East Chestnut have decorated their units, Mandell says.

First closings at 50 East Chestnut are slated for October, according to Mandell. The sales center will continue to be located at 875 N Michigan Ave.
