Newly-listed Wildwood REO in the $340s

Wildwood streetscape, Chicago

Here’s some of what I wrote about Wildwood several years back:

It wouldn’t be surprising if more Chicagoans have been to Wildwood, New Jersey than to its namesake neighborhood on the city’s far northwest side. Unless you know someone who lives in Wildwood, or work for a landscaping or home improvement company, there’s not much reason to visit this verdant residential enclave.

One reason to visit might be to have a look at a newly-listed 3-bedroom, 3-bath raised ranch on a 33 x 152 lot at 6880 N Jean Ave. It’s for sale for $348,500, in one of Chicago’s most pleasant residential neighborhoods, one where values appear to have held up fairly well.

The home last sold for $330,000 in April of 2003 and was acquired by FNMA in foreclosure in November, according to BlockShopper.

Wildwood has good schools and parks, easy access to the Edens Expy, and great proximity to the Village Crossing shopping center and other shops along Touhy Ave. The home itself is about a 15-minute walk from the Edgebrook Metra station.

You can see more photos, and a map of the neighborhood, at YoChicago’s Wildwood page.
