The number of MLS-listed rentals in Chicago’s North Shore suburbs increased by 9% during the past week, to 274 homes and condos. Forty new listings came on and remain on the market during that period, while the absorption rate slowed.
Our rental pick this week is a two-bedroom, 1 ½ bath townhome with a full basement, a 1-car garage and a large shared yard. The home, at 2027 Lake Ave, is renting for $1,500 a month. We haven’t checked, but we don’t think the kid in the pic is included in the deal.
The side-by-side duplex townhome is a few short blocks from my favorite local breakfast spot, the Ridgeview Grill, where I’ve eaten 100s of times over a 20+ year span. It’s a good alternative to the long waits that generally prevail on a Sunday morning at Walker Bros Pancake House.
