That project at the corner of Wells, Lincoln and Clark that was reported on many weeks ago right here on the Yo is starting to take shape.
The entire building is being gutted and rehabbed. Gone is the Gold Coast hotel (formerly Days Inn), the restaurant Louie on the Park, Old Town Sundries, and the dry cleaning business immediately to the south of the hotel entrance. On the way is a 200-room boutique hotel called the Park View, along with a new restaurant (no name yet), which will take up the space of all three former ground-level businesses.
The independent restaurant is a project of the guys behind the restaurants Boka and Landmark, both on Halsted Street between North and Armitage avenues in Lincoln Park. The expected opening date is August.
