One home left at University Crossing

Don’t be fooled by Blue Slate Properties’ Web site. University Crossing is much closer to sellout than that “60% Sold” announcement suggests.

Click to enlargeBlue Slate’s Victor Ayala told me Monday that he has a single one-bedroom / one-bath left at 1610 S Halsted St. The fourth-floor condo features a 14 x 19′ living / dining area with adjoining balcony, a 10 x 14′ kitchen space, a 13 x 18′ bedroom and a 6 x 10′ bathroom. The bedroom lacks a walk-in closet or direct access to the bathroom, in case those types of features matter to you.

The $242,000 price tag includes appliance and granite upgrades, Ayala says, but a buyer still has to pay an additional $25,000 for parking.

Although it’s a new building, University Crossing features a lot of loft features – heavy timber, exposed beams and ductwork, and 12-foot ceiling heights, to name a few. Residents also have access to a roof deck, from which they can soak in those lovely views of Pilsen and the Dan Ryan.
