Deming on the Park isn’t the only condo conversion on Deming Place in Lincoln Park with available units. Deming Estates, a four-unit duplex development just a few doors to the west also has a couple homes for sale.
Richard Wexner of Wexner / Greenberg Associates says a steel support structure was installed in the building when it was renovated, enabling them to knock out a lot of walls and combine what were formerly rental apartments into large duplexes. Among the features that he’s most proud of are those stained-glass and curved windows, which he says were made by craftsmen in Kankakee.
“We took the old and blended it with more of a modern look on the inside, with a more contemporary flair,” he says.
The lower-level duplex has three bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and it’s listed in the $920s. The upper-level duplex has three bedrooms and 3.5 baths and is listed at $1.44 million. Wexner attributes the price difference to the larger size of the upper-level unit and its skylights and superior outdoor space. Parking is included with that unit, but it will cost extra for the lower-level unit. A floor plan for the larger unit is above, at right.
