That complex, changing skyline you see as you drive along the Edens Expressway across from the Old Orchard shopping center is Optima Old Orchard Woods. When you visit, you’ll be surprised to learn that it’s only three inter-connected buildings. And you’ll probably marvel at the visual variety that architect David Hovey has wrung from simple forms and a limited color palette.

For a limited time, Optima Woods is offering price discounts of $10,000 on one-bedroom units priced from the $250s, $20,000 on two-bedrooms priced from the $310s, and $30,000 on three-bedrooms priced from the $540s. Combination units range in price up to $1.5 million.

Exterior construction on the 668-unit complex is complete, and interior finishes have been completed on all but the 11th through 20th floors of the building three. Building one is sold out; building two has only 11 units remaining, and nearly two-thirds of the units remain available – some can still be customized – in building three.

Optima Woods features an extensive amenities package and lavish outdoor spaces. Directly west is a forest preserve that seems to extend to the horizon. There’s easy access to the Edens (20 minutes to downtown when the traffic is light) and, of course, to Old Orchard shops.

The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
