Open house review: a new-construction condo in Beverly

As we were tooling around Beverly on Sunday, we stopped to check out one of the few remaining condos available at 10352 S Walden Pkwy, a three-story new-construction building that fronts the Metra tracks a few blocks down from the 103rd Street station. The two-bedroom two-bath unit (number 1F) has hardwood floors throughout, stainless steel appliances, granite counters and attached garage parking that directly adjoins the condo – a real luxury in freezing weather, we thought.

The unit’s location on the ground floor might be nice for those avoiding stairs, but especially with trains shooting past and foot traffic trickling down from the station, we’d feel obliged to keep our shades shut all the time – not the best way to take advantage of the living room windows that stretch nearly from the floor to the ceiling.
