Was a time, not so long ago, that some people considered being out of doors in Uptown a risky proposition. A new emphasis on outdoor space at condo projects, both new developments and conversions, however, is a positive sign for the neighborhood. Dover Court Condominiums, 4601 N Dover St, has the best looking courtyard among active conversions in the neighborhood, and perhaps in the city.
Not only is the courtyard wide, but the setback from Dover is also expansive. Long patios are surrounded by lush landscaping, and populated with a variety of tables and chairs. The entrance to the development is beautifully framed, with a central fountain and an extremely old tree dead-center as you face the wrought-iron gate, set off by period lighting.
Prices start under $170,000, and the project includes condominiums with one to three bedrooms, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, balconies, and washers and dryers. Gold Coast Realty – Chicago is marketing the project.

That’s not “Uptown.” That’s “Sheridan Park.”
NOBODY lives in Uptown anymore (except for homeless people), haven’t you heard? They live in Sheridan Park, Buena Park, Margate Park, East Ravenswood, South Andersonville/Edgewater, and so help me, North Lakeview!
That is a great looking courtyard. Kudos to the developer.
I say we try to get “NoMo” (North of Montrose) to catch on. Soooo trendy, it’s totally the next “it” neighborhood.
Or NoMoUptown…, as that realtor said. HA!
That would explain why Joe Z. is so down on Uptown all of the time… He’s not including Buena Park, Margate Park, Sheridan Park, etc. in his assessement. Oh wait, that’s more than half of the neighborhood!
NoMoSoFo?
Actually Joe Zekas would fit in in Uptown.
I can picture him walking around talking to himself and singing “New York, New York”. “If you can make it here……..”
