It might have more concrete than lawn, it sits in shadow from early afternoon on, and I still don’t know what it brings to the neighborhood that Erie Park didn’t, but hey, it’s almost finished. Parc Huron‘s leasing staff promised the building’s park (located east of the building, near the corner of Erie and Hudson streets) would be finished in early September, and the landscaping crew came reasonably close to meeting that goal.

That’s exactly what I love to stare at when sitting in the park and feeding the birds: a large, monolithic, concrete wall.
Ahhh, the serenity…
if anything has ever cried out for ivy, its this park.
It just opened, guys. Give it some time and see what develops.
In the meantime, the street scene is interesting.
You sum it up pretty well:
“It might have more concrete than lawn, it sits in shadow from early afternoon on, and I still don’t know what it brings to the neighborhood that Erie Park didn’t”
Poor use of land. This land should be developed with something, maybe townhouses fronting the parking podium and/or a few retail spaces.
I see lots of dead grass and bare earth once the tree’s mature if it really is that shady.

This area has enough vacant (depressing) retail spaces and tons of townhouses. Just glad they got rid of those electrical boxes.
What this area needs is more places to eat that are not Japonois expensive. I have seen a line for people wanting to eat at the 7-11 for lunch (an there is plenty of open retail to accommodate it).
Anyone have any idea what the plans are for this park? Will it be open to the public or only for residents?
