All I want for Christmas is a Chicago penthouse

Here are some Christmas gift ideas in case the billionaire in your life is short on inspiration.

The $10.7 million Palmolive penthouse is up for grabs. Marketed as “Your estate in the sky”, it comes complete with 630 square-foot of terrace space off the living area, killer views, access to a private concierge, a lavish private club with wet bar and fitness center with whirlpool and steam rooms.

We wonder who is going to buy the $28 million Trump penthouse (see floorplan above). It’s a massive 14,000-square-feet, with almost unheard of 16-foot ceiling heights, luxury finishes, all the services of a five-star hotel and pretty sweet views of the city skyline and the area where Lake Michigan and the Chicago River meet. The marketing team also says there is the cachet of being associated with the omni-present Donald himself.

But starter homes in the South Loop offer more outdoor space than this palatial pad. The $28 million asking price doesn’t buy you a balcony at Trump – the marketers hasten to add that you wouldn’t want one considering the wind factor up on the 89th floor. Call us old-fashioned but we’d want a bit of green space for that many greenbacks. And if you want parking it’s going to set you back a further $65,000 to $85,000.

So who’s gonna buy this place? We hear a mystery Brazilian businessman has shown interest ……
