A foodie friend once said, “You couldn’t pay me enough to live in Lake View. There just aren’t enough good restaurants.” Despite his predilection for cow brains and live sushi, at times we agree. That’s why we were tickled pink yesterday at the opening of Frasca: Pizzeria & Wine Bar, 3358 N Paulina St. Though the menu didn’t prove as authentic as the much hyped Spacca Napoli, at 1769 W Sunnyside Ave, in Lincoln Square, the restaurant does have an eight-foot wood burning oven and a menu that offers much more than pizza. We can’t wait to sit our foodie friend down to a meal of Roman style crepes, panzanella and roasted fish. Did we mention the carrot cake tiramisu?
