Pouring the first columns at K2 at K Station

The focus of the week that began on Monday, November 28, was the erection of the tower crane that will do the heavy lifting in building K2, a 34-story apartment tower in Chicago’s Fulton River District.

That wasn’t the only activity on the site that week. A lot of excavation and site prep work was underway.

One milestone was the pouring of the first of the 120 columns that will rise from the caissons sunk 80 feet deep into bedrock.
