Quote of the day: Largest units claim top billing at Solstice on the Park

Solstice on the Park

“[Developers] want the bigger units at the top and the smaller units at the bottom; the big ones sell for much more money. We decided to take that developer fact as the criteria, and we created three tiers in this building where the units get bigger and bigger as you go to the top.”

– Jeanne Gang, of Studio / Gang / Architects, speaking at the USC School of Architecture in Los Angeles.

The layout for Solstice on the Park calls for four units per floor in the first tier, three units per floor on the second tier, and two units per floor on the third tier. Check out the lecture (video here) to learn a little more about Gang’s other Chicago projects, and keep an eye out for a new sales center for the project sometime this spring.
